The Aquatic and Recreation Victoria 2024 Industry Gala Awards, commemorating its 25th anniversary, witnessed an unparalleled success, solidifying its reputation as a cornerstone event within the industry’s annual calendar. This year’s spectacular gala set a new benchmark, hosting an impressive 927 guests, making it the largest gathering in the event’s history.
A highlight of the evening was the extraordinary performance of WynActive, which continued its tradition of excellence by winning the coveted Watch Around Water awards for the seventh time in eight years. WynActive celebrated additional victories in three prestigious categories:
Alana Hinkley was named Duty Manager of the Year, while Wayne Abraham took out Group Fitness Instructor of the Year and Alana Taylor from finance team won the award for Most Valuable Employee. In total, WynActive won more awards this year than leading competitors, showcasing its dominance and dedication to excellence in service.
WynActive extends their gratitude to Wyndham City Council for their support and collaboration. Together, both organisations have worked tirelessly to provide exceptional facilities and services to the community, culminating in these remarkable achievements.
“It is once again an honour to be named Victoria’s leading Watch Around Water Program Venue for 2024, and for the seventh time. This demonstrates Western Leisure Services’ commitment to ensuring children’s safety around water and educating parents, carers, and guardians in the Wyndham community to practice appropriate supervision,” said Matt Haanappel OAM PLY – Aquatic and Community Participation Manager for WynActive.
In addition to the awards, WynActive is proud to announce its role as a collection point for the Paralympics Australia Village Art campaign. This campaign has garnered tremendous support from the Wyndham community for the Australian Paralympic Team. The collected art will be displayed in the Australian Paralympic Complex within the Paris Paralympic Athlete Village, adding a touch of local pride to the international event.
