WynActive Pool Lifeguards

Two teams of WynActive lifeguards have showcased their skills and commitment to community safety, achieving impressive results against dozens of teams from across Victoria at the recent Life Saving Victoria (LSV) Pool Lifeguard Challenge.

Lifeguards from AquaPulse and Werribee Outdoor Pool competed in the annual competition at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) on Thursday 16 July, testing their emergency response, rescue and teamwork skills in a series of realistic scenarios.

The AquaPulse team secured an outstanding second-place finish among 24 teams, while the Werribee Outdoor Pool team also performed strongly, placing eighth overall.

WynActive’s Chief Executive Officer Cam Vale congratulated both teams on their achievements.

“An amazing achievement for both our WynActive sites as this is a testament to their training and ongoing commitment to safety in our communities,” Mr Vale said.

According to LSV, the annual challenge brings together pool lifeguards from across Victoria for a day of simulated emergency response exercises, teamwork challenges and skill-building activities designed to test participants under pressure.

The event featured assessments in deep-water spinal rescues, managing difficult patrons, emergency responses to asthma incidents and elite swimming skills.

LSV says the challenge is more than a competition, providing lifeguards with the opportunity to strengthen their rescue capabilities, build confidence and learn from other aquatic industry professionals.

Mr Vale said the results highlighted the professionalism and dedication of WynActive’s lifeguards.

“Our lifeguards play a vital role in keeping our aquatic facilities safe and welcoming for the community. These results reflect the high standards they maintain every day and their commitment to ongoing professional development.”

The strong performances by both teams reinforce WynActive’s reputation for excellence in aquatic safety and the ongoing investment in training that helps ensure the highest level of care for pool patrons.
