Eagle Stadium’s 10th Birthday

Celebrating 10 years at the heart of Wyndham

WynActive has marked a major milestone, celebrating Eagle Stadium’s 10 years of sport, movement and community connection with a vibrant birthday event that brought together people of all ages from across Wyndham.

Originally opened in its current form in June 2016, Eagle Stadium has become much more than a sporting venue over the past decade. It has grown alongside the Wyndham community, supporting generations of local athletes, families and residents as they connect, stay active and create lasting memories.

The Eagle Stadium 10th Birthday Celebration welcomed the community for a free morning of sports, entertainment and family-friendly activities, with hundreds of visitors filling the venue to celebrate the occasion.

From exhibition basketball matches and come-and-try sports to fitness classes, obstacle courses and community activations, the stadium was alive with energy throughout the day. Popular attractions included the giant inflatable slide, face painting, hair braiding, casual shooting competitions and the Street Surfer Bus, while a live DJ kept the atmosphere buzzing.

Staff from WynActive, Wyndham Basketball Association, Wyndham Netball Association and Victoria Police joined visitors in basketball contests and activities, creating memorable experiences for participants of all ages.

The event also showcased local businesses through sweet treats, market-style offerings and special café promotions, while new members had the opportunity to enter a prize hamper giveaway.

The celebration was a powerful reflection of what Eagle Stadium represents: a welcoming community hub where people come together through sport, recreation and shared experiences.

“We’re feeling incredibly grateful,” said Kelly Fereti, Stadium and Active Communities Manager at WynActive.

“Eagle Stadium’s 10th Birthday celebration was full of smiles and positive energy. It was fantastic to see so many new and familiar faces enjoying our facilities and taking part in the activities.”

Over the past decade, Eagle Stadium has played host to countless sporting events, competitions, community programs and health and wellbeing initiatives. For many residents, it has been the backdrop to personal achievements, lifelong friendships and unforgettable moments.

“Thank you to everyone who attended, the organisations we are proud to partner with, and our dedicated staff who make experiences like these possible. The day truly captured what makes Eagle Stadium and the Wyndham community so special.”

As the celebrations conclude, Eagle Stadium looks ahead to continuing its role as a cornerstone of the Wyndham community for many years to come.

Here’s to the next 10 years of sport, health, connection and community at Eagle Stadium.
