Why supervision matters

At AquaPulse, safety is our top priority. We’re proud supporters of the Watch Around Water program, which ensures children are always safe, supported, and supervised in and around the pool. Drowning can happen quickly and silently, that’s why active supervision is essential whenever kids are in the water.

Supervision policy:

  • Children aged 0 to 4 must be accompanied into the centre by a responsible adult over the age of 16 years and over and be supervised within arm’s reach at all times while in the centre.
  • Children ages 0 to 4 will be issued a pink wrist band which must be worn at all times. If children are not within arm’s reach of their parent or guardian at all times, they will be removed from the water.
  • Children aged 5 to 9 must be accompanied into the centre by a responsible adult over the age of 16 years and over and actively supervised at all times while in the centre.
  • Children ages 5 to 9 will be issued a yellow wrist band which must be worn at all times. If children are unsupervised they will be removed from the water.

Please be aware of these additional important aspects of the “Watch Around Water” policy which applies at WynActive’s aquatic sites:

  • Groups won’t be admitted where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children aged 0 to 4 exceeds 1:2.
  • Groups won’t be admitted where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children aged 5 to 9 years exceeds 1:4.
  • Children aged 0 to 4 years won’t be admitted without a fee paying parent/guardian, (or a responsible parent/guardian card holder in the case of swim school members) who is accompanying the children into the water.
  • Children aged 0 to 9 years entering through the Members entrance will need to visit the services desk to be issued with a wrist band.
  • For children 10 years and older, parents must use knowledge of the child’s ability and development to determine supervision level.

Supervision guidelines

To make visits safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these important guidelines:

  • Children under 5 years:
Must be within arm’s reach of a responsible adult (16 years or older) at all times.
  • Children aged 5–9 years:
Must be actively supervised by a responsible adult (16+) who remains close and constantly watching.
  • Children 10 years and over:
Parents and guardians should use their judgement to decide if supervision is still required.

Lifeguards are on duty at all times, but they cannot replace the role of a parent or guardian.

Our commitment to water safety
We want AquaPulse to be a place where families feel confident and children learn to love the water safely. By working together with parents and carers, we create an environment where fun and safety go hand in hand.
