wetlands and riparian habitats in this area. The River Red Gum trees along the
Werribee River provide a peaceful walk as well as a habitat for birds.
Interesting fact! The name Werribee is an Aboriginal name meaning
‘backbone’ or ‘spine’ because of the shape of the Werribee River and landscape.
